- remnant of existing flooring, used to create a repair patch
- resilient flooring adhesive, for adhering patch to subfloor
- painter's tape, used to stick down the patch
- seam sealer, for filling the joints around the patch

- utility knife, used to cut through the new repair patch and old flooring
- flat trowel, for use as a straightedge when cutting out the damaged section of flooring
- 6-in-1 painter's tool, used to pry up damaged section of flooring
